Wedding Photography Portraits

Despite my style being primarily documentary, I do love a good portrait wander. If nothing else, it's a lovely little window of time for you to step away and have a little breather, so I'll always plan these chunks of time carefully. Generally speaking, we'll head for a quick stroll when everyone is called to sit down for food, because then your guests are all preoccupied with something else to do, and I don't need to take you away from spending time with them to make these photos. If we get some lovely evening golden hour light too, that's always a lovely time to just step away for a few minutes and grab some more portraits before we go and get stuck into the party. But, it is important to say, this is never a 'prescribed' thing. This is your day, so if you wanna go, we'll go. If not, that's totally cool too!

While they're always fun to shoot and form an important part of the overall gallery, I never take long doing them. I don't want you to be away from your guests for hours on end (we've all been to 'those' weddings, am I right?) - I want you right in the mix, so you can experience your wedding day as you planned it. It's not my right or my responsibility to dictate your experience of your own wedding day, so we'll keep it short, have some fun, I'll give you a bit of light direction and input so you don't feel super awkward and uncomfortable, and we'll make some epic photos of the two of you.
